Today we announced that we are partnering with the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine to support a creative program to train Purdue veterinary students to manage their own practices, utilizing the company’s cloud practice management solution. Our solution will be used to operate the school’s bookstore as part of the multi-year training initiative.
“With my private practice business experience and my role in teaching business knowledge and skills in our veterinary curriculum, I saw the parallels of management with our student-run bookstore,” said Dr. Jim Weisman, Purdue Veterinary Medicine Clinical Associate Professor and Director of Student Services. “In doing so, combining the use of hospital management software made the best sense as it provided an excellent means to allow students to learn commonly used software to manage inventory, cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other business functions. Once graduated, these students will bring these basic business skills and knowledge with them, which provides them added worth to their practice.”
